R Beginner's Guide Book Update 7/19/2010

I am excited to announce that I have submitted the entire first draft of my R Beginner's Guide book, which is to be published through Packt. The tenth and final chapter was submitted a full month ahead of schedule. The printed book could become available in as little as three to four months.

  2. The timeline is up to the publisher, but I hope it can be out much sooner than 4 months. I wrote 3-4, since my official documentation estimates 3.5 months from the submission of the complete first draft. That doesn't mean it always takes that long, of course.

    The book will be primarily distributed digitally, although it will also be available in print. Hopefully, it can release sooner rather than later. I have been well ahead on my deadlines, but as it nears final form, there are reviewers, editors, printers, etc. involved in the process. The timing will depend on their schedules in addition to my own.
